Obstetrics & Gynaecology locum doctor position at Southern Health and Social Care Trust, Northern Ireland — £60–£70/hr assignment rate.
Ad hoc night on-call cover in Obstetrics & Gynaecology at Daisy Hill Hospital, part of the Southern Health and Social Care Trust in Newry, Northern Ireland. This locum shift runs from 20:45 to 09:00, providing essential registrar-level cover across the labour ward, emergency gynaecology presentations, and acute obstetric emergencies.
The successful candidate will manage the labour ward overnight, perform emergency deliveries including instrumental and caesarean sections, assess and manage acute gynaecological admissions through the emergency department, and liaise closely with the consultant on-call for complex cases. You will be the senior decision-maker on the labour ward during the night shift, supported by SHO-level staff and midwifery teams.
This position requires ST3+ training in Obstetrics & Gynaecology, current GMC registration with a licence to practise, valid right to work in the United Kingdom, and up-to-date AccessNI (DBS equivalent) clearance. The assignment rate is £50 per hour.
