Geriatric Medicine locum doctor position at Southern Health and Social Care Trust, Northern Ireland — £60–£70/hr assignment rate.
Grayscale Medical is seeking a Specialty Trainee to join the Acute Care at Home team within the Southern Health and Social Care Trust on a locum basis. This community-based role supports the Hospital at Home service, providing acute medical care to elderly patients in their own homes as part of the Adult Community Services directorate.
The position involves daily daytime shifts (09:00–17:00) across weekdays from October to the end of October 2026. You will work as part of a multidisciplinary team delivering geriatric medicine assessments, managing acute presentations in the community, and supporting discharge avoidance pathways. The role requires confident clinical decision-making in an unsupervised community setting, including management of common geriatric conditions such as falls, delirium, infections, and heart failure exacerbations.
Candidates must hold ST3+ level training in Geriatric Medicine or General Medicine, with valid GMC registration and licence to practise. Right to work in the UK, up-to-date DBS/AccessNI clearance, and professional indemnity insurance are required. Experience in community or hospital-at-home settings is desirable.
