Geriatric Medicine locum doctor position at Western Health and Social Care Trust, Northern Ireland — £100–£110/hr assignment rate.
Locum Consultant in Stroke and Acute Care of the Elderly required at South West Acute Hospital (SWAH), part of Western Health and Social Care Trust. This is a 3-month assignment starting immediately.
The successful candidate will provide Consultant-level cover in Stroke and Acute Care of the Elderly. Candidates MUST have stroke experience — this is a firm requirement from the trust. Alongside Monday to Friday clinical duties, there is a requirement to participate in the on-call Stroke Lysis rota on a 1:4 basis at weekends.
This role involves managing acute stroke presentations, thrombolysis decision-making, and ongoing care of elderly inpatients. You will work within a multidisciplinary stroke team and contribute to the acute medical take for elderly patients.
Candidates must hold valid GMC registration with a licence to practise at Consultant level, demonstrate substantive stroke experience, have right to work in the UK, up-to-date DBS/AccessNI clearance, and professional indemnity insurance. Two professional references are required.
