General Medicine locum doctor position at Belfast Health and Social Care Trust, Northern Ireland — £60–£70/hr assignment rate.
Locum Specialty Trainee (IMT3+/ST3+) required for General Medicine at the Mater Infirmorum Hospital, Belfast Health and Social Care Trust. This assignment covers multiple day and night shifts from November 2026 to January 2027, at the £50/hr assignment rate.
The successful candidate will work within the Medicine directorate under Unscheduled Care at the MIH, providing registrar-level cover across acute general medicine. Duties include leading the medical take, supervising junior doctors, managing acutely unwell patients, and providing out-of-hours ward cover. Shifts include a mix of 12.5-hour days (09:00-21:30) and 12.5-hour nights (21:00-09:30), with some weekend commitments.
Available shifts include: 17 Nov (day), 27 Nov (night), 29 Nov (night), 9 Dec (day), 17 Dec (day), 4-7 Jan (nights), 11 Jan (day), 22 Jan (day), 23 Jan (day), 24 Jan (day).
Candidates must be at IMT3+ or ST3+ level with valid GMC registration and a licence to practise. Experience in acute general medicine and the ability to work independently at registrar level is essential. Right to work in the UK, up-to-date DBS/AccessNI clearance, professional indemnity insurance, and a minimum of 2 professional references are required.
