Emergency Medicine locum doctor position at Belfast Health and Social Care Trust, Northern Ireland — £60–£70/hr assignment rate.
Locum Specialty Trainee (Middle Grade) required for the Emergency Department and Same Day Emergency Care (SDEC) unit at the Royal Victoria Hospital and Mater Infirmorum Hospital, Belfast Health and Social Care Trust. £50/hr assignment rate.
This position covers multiple shift patterns across both RVH and MIH Emergency Departments including day shifts (08:00-16:00, 13:00-21:00, 14:00-22:00), evening/long shifts (16:00-00:00), and night shifts (22:00-08:30). The role also includes dedicated SDEC cover providing rapid assessment and treatment of patients who would otherwise require hospital admission.
The successful candidate will work across a busy major trauma centre (RVH) and acute hospital (MIH), managing undifferentiated medical and surgical emergencies, providing senior clinical decision-making, and supporting junior team members. SDEC shifts involve autonomous practice in ambulatory emergency care pathways.
Requirements: ST3+ level or equivalent experience in Emergency Medicine, valid GMC registration with licence to practise, right to work in the UK, up-to-date DBS/AccessNI clearance, professional indemnity insurance, and minimum 2 professional references. Experience in a UK ED at middle grade level is essential.
