Grayscale Medical is recruiting a Consultant in General Surgery for a locum position with the Northern Health and Social Care Trust, one of Northern Ireland's largest HSC trusts. This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced Consultant to work across the trust's General Surgery services on a flexible contract basis from July 2026.
The role is based within the Northern HSC Trust's General Surgery department, working as part of a well-established surgical team. You will be responsible for delivering high-quality elective and emergency general surgical care, including assessment, investigation, operative management, and post-operative care. The trust manages a broad range of general surgical pathology, and as a locum Consultant you will be expected to contribute fully to the on-call rota and elective programme.
Key responsibilities include providing consultant-level general surgical services across both elective and emergency pathways, participation in the surgical on-call rota, oversight and supervision of junior surgical trainees, adherence to the Northern HSC Trust's clinical governance and audit processes, and collaborative working with multidisciplinary teams including anaesthetics, radiology, and allied health professionals.
