F2/CT Locum - Cardiothoracic Surgery (Royal Victoria Hospital)

General Surgery locum doctor position at Belfast Health and Social Care Trust, Northern Ireland — £50–£55/hr assignment rate.

Grayscale Medical is recruiting an F2/CT level locum doctor for the Cardiothoracic Surgery rota at the Royal Victoria Hospital, Belfast HSC Trust. This is a full-time (1.0 WTE) assignment running from ASAP to 4th August 2026 with a view to extend, at a £50/hr assignment rate.

This is a vacant line on the Cardiothoracic rota, providing an excellent opportunity for an F2 or Core Trainee to gain valuable cardiothoracic surgery experience at one of Northern Ireland's major tertiary centres. The Royal Victoria Hospital is the regional centre for cardiothoracic surgery, providing comprehensive cardiac and thoracic surgical services.

You will work as part of the surgical team managing pre-operative assessments, assisting in theatre, post-operative ward care, and contributing to the on-call rota. Experience in or enthusiasm for cardiothoracic surgery is desirable.

Requirements include valid GMC registration with licence to practise, right to work in the UK, up-to-date AccessNI clearance, professional indemnity insurance, and two recent clinical references. Candidates should have completed Foundation Year 1 and be at F2/CT level or above.
