Grayscale Medical is recruiting a Consultant in Anaesthetics for a locum position at Causeway Hospital, Coleraine, within the Northern Health and Social Care Trust. This is a day shift role starting 2 November 2026 with an initial end date of 2 February 2027, offering an assignment rate of £100.00 per hour.
The successful candidate will join the Anaesthetics department at Causeway Hospital, delivering anaesthetic services across elective and emergency surgical lists, pre-operative assessment clinics, and acute pain management. The role involves working as part of a multidisciplinary theatre and perioperative team, providing anaesthesia for a range of surgical specialties including general surgery, orthopaedics, obstetrics, and ENT. On-call participation may be required depending on departmental rota arrangements.
Candidates must hold full GMC registration with a licence to practise and be on the Specialist Register for Anaesthetics. Previous experience working at Consultant level within an HSC or equivalent acute hospital setting is essential. Competence in managing complex airway cases, regional anaesthesia techniques, and critically unwell patients in the perioperative period is expected.
Requirements include a valid right to work in the United Kingdom, up-to-date DBS or AccessNI enhanced disclosure, professional indemnity insurance, current BLS/ILS certification, and a minimum of two professional references covering recent clinical practice.
