Specialty Doctor in Geriatric Medicine

Geriatric Medicine locum doctor position at Belfast Health and Social Care Trust, Northern Ireland — £60–£70/hr assignment rate.

We are seeking an experienced Specialty Doctor in Geriatric Medicine for a locum placement with Belfast Health and Social Care Trust.

This is a day shift position starting 24 August 2026, running until 24 November 2026. You will be working within the Elderly Care department, providing specialist medical care to older patients across inpatient and outpatient settings.

Key responsibilities include:

Assessment and management of complex medical conditions in elderly patients
Ward rounds and clinical decision-making
Multidisciplinary team working with nursing, therapy, and social work colleagues
Discharge planning and community liaison
Supervision of junior medical staff

Requirements:

Full GMC registration with licence to practise
Experience at Specialty Doctor level or equivalent in Geriatric Medicine or Care of the Elderly
Ability to work independently and manage complex caseloads
Strong communication and teamwork skills
