Locum Consultant in General Internal Medicine required at Craigavon Area Hospital, part of the Southern Health and Social Care Trust. This is a daytime shift (08:30–16:30) on Saturday within the Medicine and Unscheduled Care directorate, providing weekend consultant cover for acute medical services.
The role involves leading ward rounds on general medicine wards, overseeing the acute medical take, reviewing new admissions, and providing senior clinical oversight for the junior medical team. The department manages a wide range of acute medical presentations including cardiac, respiratory, renal, and metabolic emergencies.
Requirements: GMC registration with licence to practise at Consultant level, right to work in the UK, up-to-date DBS/AccessNI clearance, professional indemnity insurance, and minimum 2 professional references. Acute general medicine experience in an HSC or equivalent setting is essential.
