Specialty Trainee - Cardiology (RVH)

Cardiology locum doctor position at Belfast Health and Social Care Trust, Northern Ireland — £60–£70/hr assignment rate.

Grayscale Medical is recruiting a Specialty Trainee (SpR/ST3+) for a Cardiology locum shift at the Royal Victoria Hospital (RVH), part of the Belfast Health and Social Care Trust. This is a long day shift on Sunday 20th September 2026, working 8:00 to 20:30.

The RVH is the regional cardiology centre for Northern Ireland, providing specialist cardiology services including acute coronary care, cardiac catheterisation, electrophysiology, and heart failure management. You will work as part of the cardiology registrar rota, managing acute cardiology admissions, reviewing inpatients on the coronary care and cardiology wards, and supporting the on-call consultant. A minimum of 6 months' experience in cardiology is required for this post.

This position is offered at the £50/hr assignment rate for Specialty Trainee grade locum doctors. The doctor must be Encompass-trained and GMC registered.

Requirements include valid GMC registration with licence to practise, right to work in the UK, up-to-date DBS/AccessNI clearance (DBS alone does not suffice for Northern Ireland), professional indemnity insurance, ALS/ILS certification, and a minimum of two recent references in the relevant specialty and grade. Clinical attachments and observerships are not accepted as experience. Full Belfast Trust Regional Framework compliance is mandatory.
