Cardiology locum doctor position at Belfast Health and Social Care Trust, Northern Ireland — £60–£70/hr assignment rate.
Locum Specialty Trainee (SpR) required in Cardiology at the Royal Victoria Hospital, Belfast Health and Social Care Trust. This is a day shift on 29th September 2026, working 08:00–17:30 at an assignment rate of £50/hr.
The RVH Cardiology department requires an experienced SpR-level doctor to provide specialist cardiology cover. You will be working within the acute cardiology team managing inpatient referrals, cardiac assessments, and supporting the wider medical on-call. A minimum of 6 months' UK cardiology experience is required for this post — clinical attachments and observerships are not accepted as qualifying experience.
Candidates must have Encompass training and hold valid GMC registration with a licence to practise. You will need up-to-date AccessNI clearance (DBS checks from other UK jurisdictions are not sufficient for Northern Ireland), a current right to work in the UK, and two recent clinical references in cardiology at the appropriate grade. Additional requirements include ALS/ILS certification from an accredited provider (e.g. Resuscitation Council UK), anticoagulant certification, and blood transfusion competency certificates.
