Paediatrics locum doctor position at Belfast Health and Social Care Trust, Northern Ireland — £60–£70/hr assignment rate.
Grayscale Medical is recruiting a Specialty Trainee (ST4+) in Paediatrics for a locum assignment in the Paediatric Intensive Care Unit (PICU) at the Royal Belfast Hospital for Sick Children (RBHSC), part of the Belfast Health and Social Care Trust. This is a 5-month assignment starting December 2026 at an assignment rate of £50/hr.
You will work on a full shift rota within the PICU, providing intensive care to critically unwell paediatric patients. The unit manages a wide case mix including post-surgical, medical, and trauma patients. This is a hands-on clinical role requiring independent decision-making, procedural competence, and the ability to manage deteriorating children in a high-acuity environment.
Candidates must have a minimum of 6 months' experience in a Paediatric Intensive Care Unit. The Trust requires completion of specific training modules prior to starting, including BMJ Hyponatraemia training and Right Patient Right Blood modules (both online and practical competencies).
