Emergency Medicine locum doctor position at Belfast Health and Social Care Trust, Northern Ireland — £60–£70/hr assignment rate.
Grayscale Medical is seeking a Middle Grade (Specialty Trainee / ST3+ level) Emergency Medicine locum for an ongoing rota at the Royal Victoria Hospital (RVH) and Mater Infirmorum Hospital (MIH) Emergency Departments, within the Belfast Health and Social Care Trust.
This is a high-volume assignment covering multiple shifts from September to November 2026, including day shifts, evening shifts, weekend cover, and night shifts across both ED sites. The RVH ED is one of Northern Ireland's busiest emergency departments, and the Mater ED provides additional unscheduled care capacity for the Belfast area. You will work as a middle grade decision-maker, managing undifferentiated emergency presentations, leading resuscitation scenarios, supervising junior trainees, and supporting the consultant-led team.
Shift patterns include normal days (08:00-16:00/17:00), evenings (13:00-21:00 / 14:00-22:00 / 16:00-00:00), and nights (22:00-08:00). Weekend and bank holiday shifts are available throughout the period.
This position is offered at the £50/hr assignment rate for Specialty Trainee grade locum doctors.
Candidates must hold valid GMC registration with licence to practise, have right to work in the UK, DBS/AccessNI clearance, professional indemnity insurance, and at least two professional references. ALS certification is required for ED shifts. Regional Framework compliance is mandatory.
