Oncology locum doctor position at Belfast Health and Social Care Trust, Northern Ireland — £50–£55/hr assignment rate.
URGENT: Locum Core Trainee required for night cover in Oncology at Belfast City Hospital this week. Shifts run 21:00–09:30, providing overnight medical cover for oncology inpatients.
The Oncology department at BCH manages a complex inpatient caseload including patients undergoing chemotherapy, those with neutropenic sepsis, pain crises, and end-of-life care. Night cover involves managing acute deteriorations, reviewing new admissions via A&E, prescribing (including chemotherapy-related supportive care), and liaising with the on-call registrar and palliative care team.
This is an urgent gap requiring an F2 or IMT-level doctor with experience managing acutely unwell medical patients. Oncology-specific experience is desirable but not essential — the ability to manage the acutely unwell patient is the key requirement.
