General Medicine locum doctor position at Belfast Health and Social Care Trust, Northern Ireland — £100–£110/hr assignment rate.
Grayscale Medical is recruiting a Consultant in Acute Medicine for a 3–6 month locum assignment with Belfast Health and Social Care Trust, working Tuesday to Friday across both the Royal Victoria Hospital and Mater Infirmorum Hospital sites. This position is pending successful permanent recruitment.
The role involves consultant-level assessment and initial management of acutely ill medical patients across the Belfast Trust's Acute Medical Units. The successful candidate will provide clinical leadership on AMU ward work and administration, with a structured 8 PA (Direct Clinical Care) weekly schedule. The post requires cross-site working between RVH and Mater sites, so access to transport between sites is essential.
Essential criteria include: full GMC registration with licence to practise, Fellowship or Membership of the Royal College of Physicians (or equivalent), entry on the GMC Specialist Register for Acute Medicine (via CCT, CESR, or European Community Rights), and demonstrable skills in written and spoken English. Eligibility to work in the UK per UK Visa and Immigration Regulations is required.
Desirable criteria include an appropriate higher degree (MD, PhD, or equivalent), experience in assessment and initial management of acutely ill patients at consultant level, leadership and communication skills in an acute medical environment, and experience in management of General Internal Medicine patients.
The trust requires full regional framework compliance including AccessNI, at least 6 months' UK clinical experience, two recent specialty-relevant references, and Encompass training (which will be provided). This is a £100/hr assignment rate position.
