SHO Cardiology Locum - RVH

The Royal Victoria Hospital (RVH), Belfast Health and Social Care Trust, requires an SHO-grade Cardiology locum doctor with immediate effect until 4th August 2026. This is an NHS locum Cardiology position offering a £50–£55/hr assignment rate for a core trainee with relevant cardiology experience in Northern Ireland.

Based within the Cardiology department at the Royal Victoria Hospital, the post-holder will work as part of the cardiology team delivering acute and elective cardiology care. The role requires a minimum of 6 months NHS clinical experience overall, with at least 4 months in Cardiology. On-call commitment is included in this assignment. Encompass training will be provided.

Specific requirements include: valid GMC registration with licence to practise, a minimum of 4 months experience in Cardiology at SHO/CT level, ALS/ILS certificate from an accredited course (e.g. Resuscitation Council UK), completed AccessNI clearance (DBS is not accepted in Northern Ireland), and a valid Anti-coagulant Certificate. Candidates must hold a Deprivation of Liberty/Mental Capacity Act (Level 3 and 4a) certificate, Hyponatraemia Certificate, and Infection Control Certificate. Right Patient Right Blood (RPRB) competency certificates (Competency 1 and 4) and transfusion theory e-learning modules are required, with 3-yearly updates. A completed LD1 form and statement of eligibility to work in the UK are mandatory.
