Locum Specialty Doctor in Geriatric Medicine (Orthogeriatrics)

Geriatric Medicine locum doctor position at South Eastern Health and Social Care Trust, Northern Ireland — £60–£70/hr assignment rate.

We are seeking an experienced Specialty Doctor to provide orthogeriatric cover at Ulster Hospital, part of the South Eastern Health and Social Care Trust.

This locum role involves the assessment and management of elderly patients with orthopaedic injuries and fractures, working closely with orthopaedic surgical teams to optimise perioperative care. You will conduct comprehensive geriatric assessments, manage complex comorbidities, support falls prevention strategies, and facilitate safe discharge planning.

Requirements:

• Full GMC registration with licence to practise
• Experience in geriatric medicine or orthogeriatrics at Specialty Doctor level or above
• Competence in managing frail elderly patients in an acute hospital setting
• Ability to work within a multidisciplinary team
• Excellent communication skills
