Emergency Medicine locum doctor position at Belfast Health and Social Care Trust, Northern Ireland — £60–£70/hr assignment rate.
Urgent middle-grade locum shifts in the Emergency Department at the Royal Victoria Hospital, Belfast Health and Social Care Trust. Multiple shifts available from 28 July to 5 August 2026 covering day, evening, and night patterns. The assignment rate is £50/hr.
The RVH Emergency Department is one of Northern Ireland's busiest major trauma centres, seeing approximately 90,000 attendances per year. As a middle-grade doctor you will assess and manage undifferentiated emergency presentations, lead resuscitation teams, supervise junior doctors, and make disposition decisions for patients requiring admission or specialist referral.
Shift patterns include days (8am-4pm), lates (14:00-22:00/22:30), twilights (16:00-midnight), and nights (22:00-8:00/8:30). Weekend and weekday shifts are available. The department operates a consultant-led model with senior decision-maker support throughout.
This is an urgent requirement with shifts starting today. Experienced Emergency Medicine doctors at ST3+ or equivalent middle-grade level are required.
Requirements: Valid GMC registration with licence to practise, right to work in the UK, up-to-date AccessNI clearance, ALS certification (accredited course e.g. Resuscitation Council UK), minimum 6 months UK ED experience, professional indemnity insurance, and two professional references in Emergency Medicine.
