Middle Grade Emergency Medicine Locum - Mater Hospital ED

Emergency Medicine locum doctor position at Belfast Health and Social Care Trust, Northern Ireland — £60–£70/hr assignment rate.

Locum middle-grade opportunity in the Emergency Department at the Mater Infirmorum Hospital (MIH), Belfast Health and Social Care Trust. Shifts available Friday 31st July (8am-4pm, 2pm-10pm) and Saturday 1st August 2026 (2pm-10pm). The assignment rate is £50/hr.

The MIH Emergency Department provides 24/7 emergency care to the North Belfast population. As a middle-grade doctor you will manage undifferentiated emergency presentations, provide clinical leadership to junior staff, participate in trauma calls, and make admission/discharge decisions. The department sees a high volume of medical emergencies, acute surgical presentations, and minor injuries.

This is an urgent requirement for experienced middle-grade ED locums at ST3+ or equivalent level.

Requirements: Valid GMC registration with licence to practise, right to work in the UK, up-to-date AccessNI clearance, ALS certification (Resuscitation Council UK accredited), minimum 6 months UK ED experience, professional indemnity insurance, and two professional references in Emergency Medicine.
