Specialty Doctor - Emergency Medicine (Royal Victoria Hospital / Mater)

Emergency Medicine locum doctor position at Belfast Health and Social Care Trust, Northern Ireland — £60–£70/hr assignment rate.

Grayscale Medical is recruiting Middle Grade (Specialty Doctor) locum doctors for the Emergency Department and Same Day Emergency Care (SDEC) unit across Royal Victoria Hospital and Mater Infirmorum Hospital, Belfast Health and Social Care Trust. This assignment offers a £60/hr assignment rate with multiple shifts available from 9th July to 5th August 2026.

This is a high-volume role across Belfast’s busiest emergency departments. You will provide senior clinical decision-making in the ED, managing undifferentiated acute presentations, supporting junior staff, and working across both the main ED floor and the SDEC unit. Shifts include days (8:00-16:00), evenings (14:00-22:00), twilights (16:00-00:00), and nights (22:00-08:30). Both RVH and MIH sites have active requirements.

The role requires a doctor at Middle Grade/Specialty Doctor level or above with significant emergency medicine experience, valid GMC registration and licence to practise, right to work in the UK, up-to-date DBS/AccessNI clearance, and professional indemnity insurance. Minimum 2 professional references required.
