Grayscale Medical is seeking a Core Trainee (CT) doctor in Cardiothoracic Surgery for a locum assignment at the Royal Victoria Hospital, part of Belfast Health and Social Care Trust, from 1st June 2026 until August 2026. Contracted NHS framework rates apply (£50–£55/hr assignment rate). Candidates must be Encompass-trained.
This is an excellent locum cardiothoracic surgery opportunity in Northern Ireland within one of the leading cardiothoracic centres in the region. The post covers the full range of cardiothoracic surgery duties at the RVH, including pre- and post-operative care, theatre assisting, and on-call commitments as required by the department rota. The team manages complex cardiac and thoracic cases including CABG, valve surgery, thoracic resections, and vascular procedures.
All candidates must hold current Encompass clinical system training. A fully compliant file including a completed LD1 form is mandatory. The cardiothoracic surgery locum position at RVH Belfast Trust requires: CT grade (CT1/CT2), valid GMC registration with licence to practise, right to work in the UK, AccessNI clearance, professional indemnity insurance, Encompass training certification, and two professional clinical references.
