Grayscale Medical is recruiting a Core Trainee Doctor for an extended locum assignment in Cardiothoracic Surgery at Royal Victoria Hospital, Belfast Health and Social Care Trust. This role runs from April 2026 through August 2026, offering a £50–£55/hr assignment rate at contracted NHS Framework rates.
This is an outstanding Cardiothoracic Surgery locum opportunity in Northern Ireland for a Core Trainee with surgical experience. Based at the Royal Victoria Hospital, one of Northern Ireland’s leading tertiary centres, the successful candidate will join the Cardiothoracic Surgery team covering elective and emergency cases, including cardiac and thoracic surgery. The department requires candidates with a completed LD1 form and full compliance documentation.
Candidates must be Encompass (PAS) trained or willing to complete training, and must clearly indicate Encompass training status when applying. The role is available immediately with a contract running to August 2026.
All locum doctors must hold valid GMC registration with a licence to practise, right to work in the UK, up-to-date DBS/AccessNI clearance, professional indemnity insurance, and a full compliance document pack as per the HSC Framework Contract. Two professional references and a completed LD1 form are mandatory before starting.
