Grayscale Medical is recruiting for a Locum Consultant Endocrinologist and Diabetologist at the Royal Victoria Hospital, Belfast Health and Social Care Trust. This is a 3–6 month locum post covering an ongoing vacancy pending Trust substantive recruitment, with an immediate start date. The role attracts a £100–£110/hr assignment rate.
The successful candidate will join the Endocrinology and Diabetes department at RVH and take on a broad range of clinical responsibilities including: General Diabetes outpatient clinics (weekly); Transition Diabetes clinics (monthly); Antenatal Diabetes outpatient clinics (weekly, joint clinic); Antenatal Thyroid clinic (weekly); General Endocrine outpatient clinics (weekly); Pituitary/Adrenal clinic (monthly); Neuroendocrine clinic (twice monthly); and Endocrinology and Diabetes inpatient ward cover on a 1-in-9.5 Consultant of the Week rota with out-of-hours and weekend cover. Weekend cover includes medical responsibility for multidisciplinary diabetic foot patients.
Candidates must be on the GMC Specialist Register in Endocrinology and Diabetes, hold a valid Licence to Practise, and have at least 1 year of UK clinical experience. Enhanced AccessNI clearance (not DBS) is mandatory for all Northern Ireland locums. ALS/ILS certification from an accredited Resuscitation Council UK course is required. Hyponatraemia and Infection Control certificates, Anti-coagulant certificate, and Deprivation of Liberty (MCA 2005 Level 3 and 4a) training are also required.
