Specialist locum opportunity for an ST3+ Trainee Doctor in Cardiac Anaesthesia and Cardiac Surgery Intensive Care (CSICU) at the Royal Victoria Hospital, Belfast Health and Social Care Trust. £60–£70/hr assignment rate. Immediate start (ASAP) through to 4th August 2026, 1.0 WTE.
The RVH Cardiac Anaesthesia and CSICU department is the regional centre for cardiothoracic surgery in Northern Ireland, managing complex cardiac surgical cases including on-pump coronary artery bypass, valve surgery, aortic procedures, and ECMO support. As an ST3+ locum anaesthetist you will provide intraoperative cardiac anaesthesia, manage post-operative patients in the CSICU, and participate in a full rota covering days (07:30–18:00), longs (07:30–20:30), and nights (20:00–08:30) including weekends. Applicants must be prepared to work the full rota.
Essential criteria: ST3+ anaesthetics grade, demonstrable cardiac anaesthesia experience, mandatory airway training, Encompass/Epic training (mandatory for BHSCT sites), valid BLS or ALS from an accredited course (Resuscitation Council UK), GMC full registration, right to work in the UK, and AccessNI clearance. CVs must demonstrate relevant cardiac anaesthesia exposure.
